Kia’s New Logo: Good or Bad Design?
There seems to be a lot of talk about KN cars. If I didn’t know better, I might think KN cars are a new brand of automobile that recently hit the market. To my surprise, it is a company that I have been familiar with for as long as I can remember.
The old Kia logo
The old logo was created in 2012 and was used for less than a decade. It showcased a new era for Kia, leading to their tagline “the power to surprise”. This logo was later changed in the year 2021. I was of the perception that Kia did not want to shock the world any more. However, I thought wrong.
The new Kia logo
The current logo was designed in 2021, giving rise to an innovative time for Kia. This symbol created controversies that prompted individuals to ask and search for ‘kn-car’ instead of Kia cars…talk about the power to surprise. Furthermore, they decided to change their tagline to ‘movement that inspires’. In my opinion, I do believe the logo did serve its purpose which is to do a total makeover of the Kia brand
A proposed Kia logo
As someone who is a fan of the new Kn cars…I mean Kia cars, creating something that people are familiar with and readable is important when rebranding. I decided to propose this design as an option for the reason that if you search ‘Kn cars’ online, you see Kia cars, which is not favourable for Kia.
